DEANE S. HELPERIN

Deane Helperin was born June 25, 1920 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and passed away on

November 7, 2007 in Newport Beach, California. Deane was preceded in death by her

husband Jerome Helperin, owner of Integrated Data Corporation. In 1952 they moved to

Lido Isle where she spent many hours working on her tan. A gifted athlete, she played

semi-professional softball, bowled in many leagues and was a member of the “Orange

County Traveling Trio,” winning many tournaments. Her greatest passion was playing

golf. A member of numerous golf clubs, she played on Irvine Coast CC’s first team and

was also Chairman of the Ladies’ Group. For several years she golfed at Santa Ana CC

participating in many Mother-Daughter Tournaments. She organized and was the first

Chairman of Big Canyon CC Ladies’ Group and was later Ladies’ Club Champion.

Her community service included the Lido Isle Community Association, National Charity

League, Hoag Hospital Auxiliary, and the Hoag Circle 1000 Supporters. She was a

volunteer in the first Hoag Hospital Gift Box in 1960, where her daughter currently

volunteers.

Deane took great pride in her family; she will be missed by a wide circle of friends.

She is survived by her daughter Kathy (Helperin) Teele, son-in-law John Teele, and

granddaughter Casey McCoy. At her request there will be no services. In lieu of flowers,

donations may be made in her name to the Hoag Hospital Foundation at P.O. Box 6100,

Newport Beach, CA 92660-6100.
