Boys Under 14

Newport Beach Lucky Charms 6, Corona del Mar No. 1 2: The Lucky Charms exploded on offense scoring six goals. Mason Murphey and Adam Kinder both scored two goals with Kyle Regan and Abner Viveros each scoring one. Solid defense was led by Connor Moore, Parker Joyce, Edwin Collindres and Chase Crowell. Eric Rosales played well at the goalkeeper position and Bobby Swift and Zane Torre controlled the midfield. Tanner Barrett was injured but added moral support from the sideline.

Girls Under 12

Strikers 2, Pink Pirates 0: Kate Mcfetters scored two goals and Emily Nall and Sabrina Sanchez had assists in the Strikers’ win on Sunday. Sierra Stump, Alex Vasquez, Kilie Stivers, Lauren Hanson, and Alana Aguirre all played halfback, each with shots on goal. Olivia Muscatello, Michelle Duchus, Camille Christensen, and Brooke Hinton all played great defense, turning away scoring chances. The Strikers finished their opening playoff weekend going 3-0 and dedicating the games to their center forward Cortlynn Clement, who fractured her arm roller skating.

Girls Under 10

Orange Crush 0, Pink Panthers 0: Rylie Siegfried, Scout Farmer, Mackenzie Paskerian, and Hayden Allen provided numerous attacks on goal with help from Hannah Alderson and Paige Alkire in the midfield. The Orange Crush’s defense played very well in their first playoff game, with Emily Fay, Allison Hanscom and Mackenzie Mowery stopping everything coming their way. Goalkeeper Skyler Gullick played well and hasn’t allowed a goal in five games.

Orange Crush 1, Blue Cheetahs 0: Both teams came out fighting for a spot in next weekend’s final round of games. The Orange Crush dominated the first half with Emily Fay, Paige Alkire and Mackenzie Mowery showing spectacular field coverage. Rylie Siegfried scored the game’s only goal when she stopped a Blue Cheetah goal kick and shot it right back at the goalkeeper. With determination and intensity, Scout Farmer, Clara Eddy and Allison Hanscom provided more than a dozen goal attempts. Hannah Alderson, Mackenzie Paskerian, and goalkeeper Skyler Gullick kept the Blue Cheetahs scoreless.

Blue Crush: The Blue Crush played well beating the Shiny Pink Diamonds, 3-1, and then the Shooting Stars, 5-3, during their playoff weekend. Grace Muenchow, Paige Fults, Maddie Kanzler and Kate Hefner provided goals for the Blue Crush. Astrea Montgomery, Sofia Viades, Abbey Scott and Vale Lewis played strong defense while midfielders Fults, Kanzler, Claire Olmstead, Julie Mariano and Becca Standt applied constant pressure. Forwards Muenchow, Hefner, and Kelly Sandberg were constantly attacking the opposing goal.

Boys Under 10

Barracudas 2, Vikings 1: Hunter Warmington scored a goal for the Barracudas. Jack McClintock had several shots on goal and also passed to Zach Durham, who had a shot in the third quarter. Ethan Zimmerman, August Rice and Race Chambers also displayed great offensive skills. The defense dominated with Riley Blake, Marley Aragon and RJ Reid each making key stops. Dylan Wolf and Sean Freeman each had amazing saves in goal for the Barracudas.
