Alison Anne (Bailey) Corr

September 17, 1961-November 13, 2007

Alison was born at Glendale Memorial Hospital in Glendale California, grew up in Corona del Mar and passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Huntington Beach. She attended both Corona del Mar High School and Newport Harbor High School from which she graduated.

Alison was a gifted musician and an entertainer, for many years providing accompaniment and song to many festive events. She was an accomplished guitarist, singer and composer, often creating special compositions for weddings and other family oriented events. She was an old movie buff with an encyclopedic memory of films long forgotten by the rest of us. She loved her music, camping/surfing trips to Mexico, her husband Bob, and her family. In recent years she was challenged deeply by painful Crohn’s disease, but her spirit never waned. She was a faithful member of AA and a strong believer in the 12 step program, inspiring many new and old members alike to live better, addiction free lives.

In our extended family, she is the first of her generation to leave us. Those of us who remain here can only wonder at God’s plan that would take her so prematurely from us. We are consoled and comforted in the knowledge that she is now pain free and at peace in the presence of the Almighty.

She leaves behind a large and loving family: her husband Bob, her son Brandon Rainwater, her parents, Nigel Bailey and Betty Jo (Bailey) Woollett, her brother Damon, his wife Kristin and their children, Colton and Kendall, step sister Kristin Schwellenbach Merrill, step parents Suzanne Bailey and Bill Woollett, in-laws Jo Anne, Jeff and Ron Corr and many Uncles, Aunts, cousins and friends too numerous to mention.

She was like a brilliant shooting star that dazzles those around her for all too brief a moment in time but then lingers on as a sweet, smiling, musical memory to all of us who had the privilege of knowing her.

Alison, we will always love you and we miss you deeply!!

A private ship-board memorial service and scattering of ashes at sea will be held off the coast of Newport Beach for immediate family members. A celebration of life will be scheduled on December 8, 2007 for all friends and family at Hope Chapel in Huntington Beach. Those wishing to attend should call 949-500-3250 for time
