Assemblyman hands out turkeys to the community

Assemblyman Van Tran (R-Costa Mesa) joined forces with the Golden State Water company and more than a dozen community organizations Friday to distribute 100 Thanksgiving Turkeys to those in need.

“Charities, foundations and philanthropy have an enormous role to play in America,” Tran said in a news release, “but charitable foundations and the government must work together, not against each other.”

The turkeys were distributed to various local organizations that serve the poor such as the Someone Who Cares Kitchen, Share Our Selves and the Orange Coast Interfaith Shelter.
