UC Irvine/Nike Cup

LONG BEACH — UC Irvine sophomore Lyndsay DePaul won the 200-yard butterfly Saturday on the final day of the three-day event at Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool.

It was DePaul’s third event victory of the meet for DePaul, whose time of 1 minute, 56.41 seconds broke meet and school records.

UCI senior Eddie Erazo won the men’s 200 butterfly Saturday in 1:44.54, also a meet record.

The UCI women finished sixth among 22 teams overall, while the UCI men were sixth among 12 schools.

KENOSHA, Wis. — The Vanguard men’s team finished 26th, as freshman Roman Pascual led the Lions, finishing the 8,000-meter course in 26 minutes, 9.4 seconds, 87th overall.

Senior Jason Valenzuela (91st in 26:10.9), sophomore Michael Hortanov (196th in 27:09), freshman Darren Bruneck (252nd in 29:09.2) and senior Humberto Rojas (257th in 31:05.8), also ran for the Vanguard men.

Representing the Vanguard women, junior Rebecca Sopp was 147th (19:35.3), while junior Gina Attard was 195th (20:04.5).

WOMENS’ VOLLEYBALL

COSTA MESA — Orange Coast College’s women’s volleyball team is seeded eighth in Southern California and will host the first round of the Southern California Regional Playoffs Tuesday. OCC will face ninth-seeded College of the Canyons at 7 p.m. The winner of that match will play on Friday against the winner of No. 1 Irvine Valley and No. 16 Palomar.
