Sales of holiday wreaths to benefit homeless
The Cursillos, a mens’ group at Our Lady Queen of Angels Church, will sell holiday wreaths to benefit Serving People In Need (SPIN), an organization dedicated to assisting low-income and homeless people by providing financial assistance for housing costs.
The Cursillo’s 12-member group has been involved with SPIN for the past 10 years. They have picked up and stored donated furniture in the SPIN warehouse and created a coat drive that began at Our Lady Queen of Angels parish and now includes other parishes throughout the county.
The 22-inch noble fir wreaths decorated with pine cones, cedar and juniper will be available for $20.
Offering comprehensive support services, SPIN enables the homeless to become self-sufficient through programs such as its Guided Assistance to Permanent Placement Housing Program, which provides move-in costs for permanent housing to families with children leaving shelter programs.
The Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Program provides indigent individuals with move-in assistance to a SPIN-approved recovery home while they seek full-time employment.
To place an order for a wreath, call Kim Frazier at (714) 751-1101, ext. 19.
