Grade 3 gratitude

EDITOR’S NOTE: The following are Thanksgiving essays by Harbor View Elementary third-graders.

While many children are thankful for the love and the companionship of their family members — not to mention the homework help — it was the valued protection, safety and freedom provided by veterans and firefighters that inspired third-graders at Harbor View Elementary to think about the things for which they were grateful.

After some veterans and firefighters recently visited the children, teacher Linda Wawra got the kids started on the essay project.

“They were so interested and curious,” Wawra said. “They listened to every one of them say who they were and what service they had done.”

I am thankful for a lot of things. But I’m only going to tell three of them. First I am thankful for all of our veterans and everything they do for us. Next I am also thankful for my family because they care for me and love me. Last I am thankful for teachers because they help me learn so I can be smart. That’s why I’m thankful.

Daniel Rogers

I am thankful for my mom because she does lots of things like get my cereal and pick me up from school. I am also thankful for my dad because he does at least two things for me. One is he wakes me up in the morning. The second thing is love me. Last but not least I am thankful for my sister. I am thankful for her because she is kind and a loving person.

I am thankful for many things. First, I am thankful for my mom and dad because they support me with love and care. Second, I am thankful for my cousins because they make me laugh and are funny. Finaly, I’m thankful for all the veterans and army men fighting today!

I am thankful for the people in the army that fight for our freedom. I am thankful for my family because they love me and they show it every day. Last I am thankful for you and the people who help us.

I am thankful for our country’s freedom. I am thankful for our freedom because we can play outside without being bombed or hurt. That is why I am thankful for my country’s freedom.

I am going to tell you two things for which I am thankful. First, I am thankful for the army because they bravely fight in the army for freedom. Second, I am thankful for my mom because she helps me with my homework and dioramas and I just love her.

I’m thankful for the men who give us freedom so other people can’t harm us. I am thankful for food because if we don’t eat food than we will die. I am thankful for my friends because they care about me and I care about them.

I’m thankful for the U.S. army for giving me freedom. I’m thankful for my mom and dad because they take care of me. I’m thankful for my big brother, Shane, for always helping me. I am thankful for my friends because they are nice to me. That is what I’m thankful for.

There are plenty of different things in the world to be thankful for, and I’m going to tell you mine. Of course I’m thankful for my house, because there are plenty of people who don’t have houses. I am also very happy to have a good, soft bed so I can stay warm in the winter. Also I am glad to have food and water so I can be healthy. Oh, and of course, I love having family and friends who care about me, because family and friends are very important.

I’m thankful for many things. First, I’m thankful for my school because I can learn many things. Next, I’m thankful for the men and women that fought for our country because they protect us from other people that fight them. Finally, I’m happy for my friends because if I didn’t have them I would be lonely.

I am thankful for the soldiers because they fight for our country. I am also thankful for my parents because they do things for me and love me. Finally I am thankful for all the veterans. I am so lucky to live here.

I am thankful for my family because they love me and care for me. I love my brother, mom, and dad. They’re so nice and sweet. I love them so much. I have a good family. I’m so thankful for them. My family is fantastic.

I would like to tell you about what I am thankful for. I am thankful for three things. First, I am thankful for my family because they are important to me. Secondly, I am thankful for my pets because they are family. Finally, I am thankful for my house because if I didn’t have my house I wouldn’t have anything. That is what I am thankful for.

The things I am thankful for are food because I am never hungry. I am also thankful for the military because they keep our country safe. I am also thankful for my parents because they love me and help me with my homework. I am thankful for firefighters who have put the fires out.

I am thankful for many things. First, I am thankful for my Mom, I am thankful for my Mom because she helps me when I have problems. Next, I am thankful for my brother because he helps me when I’m hurt. These are things I’m thankful for.

I am thankful for my family because If I did not have them I would not know where to love or go to a nice school. I am thankful that I have brothers, cousins and aunties and uncles because I would be lonely and would have no one to play with. I am thankful for my life because if I did not have a life I would not be able to love this place. I am in a great place on earth.

I am thankful for many things. One thing I am thankful for is for the people who fouaght for freedom because if they didn’t nothing would be the same as right now. I am also thankful for food and water because if we didn’t have any we would starve or get dehidrated. Another thing I am thankful for is my family because if I didn’t have one I would be very lonely. This is another thing that I am thankful for is to be able to go to this school because if I didn’t I would miss out on all the fun at this school. I think I am very lucky to have this life.

I’m thankful for lots of things. My first thing is freedom. Freedom is cool because you can pick what job you want. Second is food. Thank you god for all our wonderful food. Third is veterans I thank veterans because they protect us.
