Offense leads to victory

The Storm put another notch in the win column Tuesday by defeating the Hawks, 7-4, in Howe Division play at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

Andrew Leming, Auston Leming and Aaron Dorff each scored twice to lead the Storm on offense. Jeremy Corwin scored once and had an assist and Auston Leming also had an assist.

Ricky Zatarain recorded 16 saves.

Andrew Schenker and Stuart Urbano each scored twice for the Hawks. Urbano also had an assist and Savannah Patton finished with 21 saves.

In other Howe Division action:

Diablos 5, Rattlers 3

The Diablos turned a 2-0 first-period lead into a two-goal victory over the Rattlers.

Corey Childers scored twice and Austin Koss, Jonah Perez and Matthew Chism all scored once. Koss, Chism and Danielle Dapello each had an assist and Sam Prizler had 19 saves.

Rattlers goals came from Daniel Burkhardt, Christopher Kao and Tyler Wilford. Kyle Aube, Jake Grothjan and Alexander Gomez were credited with assists.

Aube also had 17 saves.

In Smythe Division action:

Fusion 2, Beach Boys 1

Fusion took a 2-0 lead into the final period and then held off the Beach Boys.

Ricky Meyer scored, and James Johnson and Lucia Procopio each had an assist for Fusion.

Chris Hernandez had 20 saves.

Kyle Kowalski scored and Jadin Press had 17 saves for the Beach Boys.

Swat 7, Predators 3

A four-goal second-period helped propel Swat past the Predators.

Daniel Patzlaff and Trenton Shehan each scored twice and Braeden Stack, Hayden Rahman and Joshua Wagoner all scored once for Swat. Joe Gibb had two assists, Wagoner one assist and Brandon Wagoner had 19 saves.

Tyler McLuckey, Nolan Strout and Jake Shaylor scored goals for the Predators. Shaylor also had an assist and Jesse Mellema finished with 15 saves.

Beach Boys 5, Sure Grip 3

The Beach Boys scored four goals in the final period to overcome Sure Grip.

Kevin Ozeretny and Robert Wirth scored twice and Andrew Armstrong scored once.

Weston Bechtold and Connor Nance each had an assist and Jadin Press recorded 20 saves.

Nicholas Thompson scored twice, Tommy Spencer had a goal and assist and Hector Tepaotl had an assist for Sure Grip.

Jacob Lawson had 13 saves.

In Patrick Division action:

Outlaws 9, Ice Dogs 3

The Outlaws posted three goals in each period to defeat the Ice Dogs.

Justin Williams and Alec Schartner each scored three goals to lead the Outlaws attack. Zach Gillespie scored twice and Dean Metherell scored once.

Williams also assisted three goals, Gillespie and Garrick Langer each had a pair of assists and Joseph Lockmyer had one assist

Matthew Moore scored twice with an assist, Kandice Ehret had a goal and assist, and Ian Marzolf finished with 22 saves for the Ice Dogs.

Bruins 7, Goonies 6

The Bruins outscored the Goonies 2-1 in overtime to pull out the win.

Erich Post Jr. and Slater Hoar scored in overtime for the Bruins. Post Jr. finished with two goals overall and Zachary Ganzer, Phillip Berman, David Mastron and Nick Irwin all scored once.

Post Jr., Mastro and Berman also had one assist each, and Eric Grant recorded 24 saves.

Kyle Impelman and Blake Miller each posted two goals for the Goonies. Alvin Do and Dylan Miller each scored twice.

Dylan Miller added two assists, Blake Miller and Garrett Smith each had one assist and Mark Miller had 24 saves.
