CORONA DEL MAR — Freshman goalkeeper Lindsey Luke had three saves and did not allow a goal in the second half, after replacing the starting ’keeper for the Sea Kings in the nonleague season opener at home Tuesday.

Senior forward Lexie Henson and freshman sweeper Kaylee O’Connor were singled out by CdM Coach Bryan Middleton for their strong play.

All three Mater Dei goals came in the first 25 minutes.

CdM plays Connelly Friday at 4 p.m. at Golden West College to open the Ocean View Tournament.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO — Sage Hill sophomore goalie Hannah MacLeod made 11 saves, but it wasn’t enough in the nonleague season opener for both schools Tuesday on the Lions’ field.

JSerra’s goals came in the 68th and 77th minute.
