Region 97 takes Mayors’ Cup

Region 97 Newport won the Mayors’ cup Sunday with three championships.

The girls’ under 10, girls’ under-12, and boys’ under 14 teams all won games.

Region 120 Costa Mesa won two titles (boys’ U12 and girls’ U14) and Region 57 Corona del Mar won the boys’ U10 title.

Mayors Steve Rosansky and Alan Mansoor presented medals and the cup with Costa Mesa Councilwoman Katrina Foley.

Since Region 97 is composed of both Newport Beach and Costa Mesa, the cup will be shared by both cities. It will be displayed at Newport Beach City Hall for six months before being transferred to Costa Mesa City Hall.
