Garage sale to help with resident’s medical bills

A multifamily neighborhood garage sale to benefit Costa Mesa resident Bill Thomas, who suffered a rare spinal stroke in January, will be Saturday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Proceeds from a February garage sale helped pay for Thomas to be moved to Atlanta’s Shepherd Center, a catastrophic-care hospital specializing in spinal cord injuries.

Thomas has been back at home since September and is making progress, said neighbor Nancy Casey.

Thomas is still on a respirator and the family continues to need help with ongoing medical expenses.

Donated items for the garage sale can be dropped off at the Casey home at 934 Cheyenne St. or the Thomas home at 925 Paularino Ave.
