Sure Fit claims victory in 7-1 rout

Sure Fit scored the first seven goals of their Smythe Division match with the Predators and went on to claim a 7-1 victory at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

Nicholas Thompson and Alex Kao led the scoring with three goals apiece and Tommy Spencer scored once.

Assists went to Thompson, Spencer, Austin Bullo and Griffin Orr.

Jacob Lawson recorded 19 saves.

Jake Shaylor scored an unassisted goal for the Predators and Jesse Mellema had 23 saves.

In other Smythe Division action

Swat 4, Fusion 2

A third-period goal by Braeden Stack gave Swat breathing room as they went on to defeat Fusion.

Stack scored off a feed from Carl Swanson with 3:40 to play to give Swat a 4-2 lead.

Swanson finished with two assists. Daniel Patzlaff scored twice, Joe Gibb had a goal and Kyle Breznau had an assist to complete Swat’s offensive production.

Brandon Wagoner finished with 16 saves. Ricky Meyer and Kirsten Schaefer scored goals and Alexander Taros and James Johnson had assists for Fusion.

Chris Hernandez had 15 saves.

Beach Boys 7, Predators 6

The Beach Boys outscored the Predators 3-2 in the third period to pull out the one-goal victory.

The teams were tied, 4-4, through two periods of play.

Weston Bechtold scored three goals to pace the Beach Boys offense. Kevin Ozeretny scored twice and Andrew Armstrong and Connor Nance also had goals. Chandler Clark came up with four assists and Weston Bechtold and Logan Bechtold each had one assist.

Jadin Press had 16 saves.

Nolan Strout scored the first three goals for the Predators and finished with four goals. Kyle Hoglund scored the other goal.

Jesse Mellema had 15 saves.

New league registration

Youth interested in joining Coast 2 Coast Roller Hockey for are encouraged to sign up for the upcoming new league season that begins in January.

New players to the league will receive $25 off registration fees.
