CHINO HILLS — Sophomore Elizabeth Eddy scored on an assist from junior Lauren Devoy to lead the Sailors to the championship of the Western Christian Tournament Monday.

Goalie Sydney King had four saves for Newport Harbor (4-0-2).

The Sailors went 3-0-1 in the tournament with wins over San Jacinto, 6-0, and Granite Hills, 1-0. In the victory over San Jacinto Saturday, Eddy scored three goals.

WHITTIER — Senior center Stefan Kaluz scored 26 points to lead Corona del Mar to a first-round win in the North Orange County Championships Monday at La Serna High.

Senior forward Joe Eberhard had 10 points and freshman guard Clayton Ragsdale added eight points. The Sea Kings (4-1) will play Tesoro today at Troy High at 5 p.m.

GARDEN GROVE — Junior Tim Neumann led the Eagles with eight points in the first-round game of the Garden Grove Tournament Monday at Pacifica High.

Troy McClanahan had six points, including the only three-pointer for the Eagles (1-3).

Kevin Thomas (five), Micah Zirbel (four), Mark Allred (four), Ryan Knapp (three), as well as Jerome Young, Kohl Jones, Brian Perez and Jesus Antiono (two apiece), rounded out the Estancia scoring.

The Eagles play the loser of Monday’s game between Sunny Hills and John Glenn in a consolation quarterfinal game Wednesday at 5:30 p.m at Pacifica.

COSTA MESA — Junior Amber Peters scored on a assist from freshman Haley Kunert to break an 8-8 tie with 3:01 left in the nonleague game Monday at Estancia.

Kunert, who finalized the scoring with 1:54 left, had six goals to lead the Eagles (6-2), who defeated the Mariners, 8-1, in a tournament last week.

Senior Emily Kaplan had 10 saves for the Eagles, who also received single goals from junior Michelle Parsons and senior Megan Kunert.
