Block party tonight on South Coast Highway

Not to be outdone by downtown Laguna’s Hospitality Night last Friday, shops in the 1200 block of South Coast Highway are hosting their own Hospitality Night tonight from 6 to 10.

The entire block from Sapphire to the Rooftop is rolling out the red carpet for a holiday party. Live music, food and great deals on gift items will be found throughout the block.

The Black Flamingo, 1257 S. Coast Hwy., is offering sample sale prices on couture dresses and 20% off all Christmas shopping items, plus a Rachel May jewelry trunk show.

Soho By the Sea salon will offer holiday gift packages and special designer trunk shows.

Also participating are Scout 3, Tootsies shoes, Mandarin Fine Art, Studio Fine Arts, Laguna Beach Books and Riviera Home Store.

Black Flamingo is also sponsoring a Toys for Tots Christmas Raffle, with grand prizes of a stay at La Casa del Camino and drinks at the Rooftop; a VIP Lucky Strike Bowling Party for 20, including game, shoes, food and a VIP room; $100 gift certificate at The Black Flamingo, plus certificates for hair and beauty services at Soho By the Sea, and other prizes.

Saloon to party for Toys for Tots

The Saloon in The Peppertree Lane will host its fourth annual Christmas party benefiting Toys for Tots from 5 to 10 p.m. Monday.

Admission is one unwrapped new toy, which can be exchanged for a ticket to the opportunity drawing to be operated by Saloon owners Michael Byrne and Bobby Doerr. Prizes will be given away all night and include donations from many local merchants. Hors d’oeuvres and drink specials will be available.

The most-needed gifts this year are for males between the ages of 12 and 16. Suggestions are sporting goods and electronics.
