Tinker Bell model signs photos at South Coast

When Costa Mesa resident Debbie Brostek was a child at Disneyland, she didn’t want to leave until she saw Tinker Bell fly during the evening fireworks show.

Saturday, Brostek got to revisit her childhood at South Coast Plaza. Margaret Kerry, who served as the model for Tinker Bell in Disney’s animated “Peter Pan,” visited the Home Holidays and Traditions store on the Bear Street side to sign autographs and meet with fans from multiple generations.

Kerry sat by a table of glossy photographs for most of Saturday and plans to return today from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Her autographs went for $29.95 or $50 for a pair.

Most of the pictures showed Kerry in her Tinker Bell poses, but one was decidedly non-Disney: a picture that Marilyn Monroe snapped of Kerry when the two were young models.
