Boat winners come to light
The harbor was ablaze with lights last week as entrants in the 99th annual Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade floated past crowds of cheering spectators.
Judging by the Commodores Club of the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce has determined winners in a variety of categories.
Sasco Electric’s boat, “El Navegante,” which David MacIntyre captained, won the Sweepstakes Award for best overall entry and the award for Best Corporate Entry.
An awards dinner and auction honoring winners of the Christmas Boat Parade and Ring of Lights competitions will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. Jan. 18 at The Balboa Bay Club and Resort.
Proceeds from the event will go toward next year’s parade. Tickets are $110.
