District invites parents to discuss rezoning schools

Parents get their chance to ask Newport-Mesa Unified School District administrators questions regarding proposed school reconfigurations at six public workshops presented through January and early February.

Deputy Supt. Paul Reed and Assistant Supt. Susan Astarita will discuss standardizing all elementary school grade levels to kindergarten through sixth grade and all middle schools to seventh and eighth grade.

District staff members suggest converting Davis Elementary School into one with a curriculum focused on a special skill, or magnet school.
