OCC offers scholarships; applications posted online
OCC is accepting scholarship applications for the 2007-08 academic year, school officials said. More than $300,000 in scholarships will be awarded at OCC’s annual Honors Night Banquet on May 6. Scholarships range from $250 to $2,500.
The college offers a “Continuing Student Scholarship” designed for students who plan to enroll at the college next fall.
Eligible students must have completed at least 12 units by the end of winter session and be enrolled in at least six units in the spring. Students must also have at least a 3.5 grade-point average.
A “Transferring Student Scholarship” is available for students looking to be juniors at a four-year university in the fall. They must have at least 42 units completed at any post-high school institution, with at least 24 coming from OCC.
These students must also be enrolled in at least six units in the spring and have a 3.5 GPA or better. OCC’s various departments also offer one-time $500 scholarships.
All awards will be based on GPAs, units completed, financial need, service and leadership, employment and exceptional personal and academic circumstances.
Scholarship applications maybe downloaded from the college’s website, www.orangecoastcollege.edu.
