Two juveniles believed to be responsible for more than 20 incidents of graffiti in Laguna Beach since last March totaling $10,000 in damages have been arrested.

The two — a 13-year-old Laguna Niguel boy and a 14-year-old Laguna Beach girl — were arrested on suspicion of felony vandalism Jan. 5 after being caught allegedly spray-painting the Greeter’s Corner restaurant at 10 p.m., according to Laguna Beach Police Chief Mike Sellers.

Two witnesses who observed the “tagging” in progress helped police identify the boy, who was taken into custody at the scene. The girl was later taken into custody at her home in Laguna Beach.

The total cost in damages from the pair’s graffiti spree is estimated to be more than $10,000.
Evidence gained from the juveniles’ MySpace postings was instrumental in their identification and arrest, police said.
The suspects were transported to Juvenile Hall in the city of Orange. Their identities are being withheld due to their ages.
