Woman arrested in connection to prostitution

Bail has been set at $50,000 for a woman arrested on suspicion of prostitution in Costa Mesa, county records show.

Cassandra Renee Aikey, 23, was arrested at the Orange County Hilton Tuesday night, though the circumstances of her arrest were unclear at first. Incident reports obtained from the Costa Mesa Police Department indicate officers responded to a call involving prostitution in the same hotel room about the time Aikey was arrested.

“The detectives are still investigating this case and are not releasing anything at this time,” Sgt. Bryan Glass said.

The Orange County District Attorney’s office could not confirm the specific charges filed against Aikey, though she remains in the custody of the Orange County’s Sheriff’s Department, according to her booking report.

Aikey’s next hearing will be today in the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana.
