UCSB dean to speak about ‘The Climate Challenge’

UC Santa Barbara Dean of Environmental Science and Management Ernst von Weizsacker will discuss global warming Tuesday as part of the UCI’s ninth annual distinguished lecture series.

Weizsacker’s talk, “The Climate Challenge: Answers from Technology, Business and Society,” will cover the world’s response to the global climate shift. He has served as policy director for the United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development and was a member of the German parliament. This installment of the Chancellor’s Distinguished Fellows Lecture Series explores solutions to global warming.

Weizsacker’s lecture is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Crystal Cove Auditorium at UCI. The event is free and open to the public. Seating is limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking is available in the student parking structure for $7. The event is hosted by the UCI Department of Planning, Policy and Design.
