Hearings to explain worth of school property

The Huntington Beach City School District board of trustees will hear just how much their four closed school sites are worth Tuesday. No vote on the issues will be taken, but appraiser Integra Realty Resources will present its findings to the board.

The board will also host two informational town hall meetings Monday and Wednesday on the fate of the land for those who wish to ask questions and find out more about the issues.

The school board is looking at proposals to sell or lease the sites, some of which would sell to housing developers. The city has also made preparations to buy some of the land if it is put up for sale.
