Kristen Green, a former UC Irvine women’s basketball player now playing in the men’s professional American Basketball Assn. with the Orange County Gladiators, scored 25 points in the team’s 136-104 road win over the Maywood (Calif.) Buzz on Wednesday.

Green, a 5-foot-9 reserve guard, made six of eight three-point field-goal attempts in the second half to help her produce 20 of her 25 points after intermission. She finished eight of 10 from the field, including seven three-pointers. She was also two for two from the free-throw line.

Green, who had played professionally in women’s leagues overseas after graduating from UCI in 2004, made her debut with the Gladiators Jan. 6. She is at least the third woman to compete in an ABA game.
