Tina Borgatta, the former executive editor of Orange Coast magazine and a veteran of the Los Angeles Times and other newspapers, has been named the new editor of OC Metro Business magazine.

The magazine, owned by the Newport Beach-based Churm Media, announced Borgatta’s appointment this week. Prior to her five-year tenure with Orange Coast, Borgatta served as assistant managing editor of the Sun in San Bernardino, a staff writer for the Orange County edition of the Los Angeles Times and senior editor of the Times Community News Group.

“I’m thrilled to join the Churm Media family,” said Borgatta, a Huntington Beach resident, in a release. “I’ve been a fan of Churm’s publications for quite some time. OC Metro Business is the magazine of record for the region’s business community, and I’m looking forward to continuing the great work.”

The magazine, which changed its name from OC Metro last fall and focused its coverage on business, puts out a print issue every two weeks and features extensive online coverage at www.ocmetro.com. Churm Media also owns OC Family, Body Beautiful, Southland Golf and other magazines.

“Tina is an absolute pro and we are excited to have her join our team,” publisher Steve Churm said in a release. “Tina brings deep journalistic ethics and experience to her new position. She knows Orange County well and will be a tremendous asset as we continue to enhance our premier position within Orange County’s media industry.”
