Robert W Jones
Robert W. Jones, born November 1, 1923, made his transition on January 20, 2008. He was 84 years old.
Bob was a long time resident of Balboa, which became his permanent home after World War II. His war service was in the US Coast Guard where he drove landing barges in all the major invasions in the Pacific. Winning 2 Bronze Stars for the Liberation of the Philippines.
He owned and operated Jones Realty in Newport Beach for many years. His later years were spent in land sales in Temecula, Ca.
Bob is survived by his son Steven Jones of Newport Beach, his daughter Laurie Jones Tooch, and granddaughters Erin and Gina Tooch of Mission Viejo.
He is also survived by a stepson Robert Batterton of Temecula and 3 step-grandchildren Jessie, Robbie and Kami Batterton.
He is further survived by his brothers Donald Jones of Balboa, Richard Jones of Irvine and many nieces and nephews.
He will be dearly missed.
Services will be private. Memorial gifts may be made to a charity of personal choice.
