SAN DIEGO — Junior guard Andrew Ellis came off the bench for team-highs of 16 points and four assists, but the Lions dropped the Golden State Athletic Conference game Tuesday at Point Loma.

Senior center Arvydas Vaitiekus added 13 points and nine rebounds for Vanguard (11-5, 5-3 in conference). Point Loma, ranked No. 11 in the NAIA, improved to 15-3, 6-2 in conference.
