Bandits evade opponents

The Bandits outscored the Enforcers 5-1 over the final two periods of their Wales Division match last weekend and went on to post an 8-5 victory at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

Christian Weber scored three goals and added an assist to lead the Bandits offensively. Connor Culhane, Caleb Chapman, Chris Martinez, Sean Kitchen and Trevor Brenden all scored once.

Brenden also collected a pair of assists and Martinez, Culhane and Mark Macintosh each had an assist. Blake Walker recorded 17 saves. Jeremy Corwin and Chase Pearce both scored twice and Auston Leming scored once to lead the Enforcers. Corwin, Leming, Bryan Bennett and Andrew Leming all had assists.

In other Wales Division action:

Killer Instinct 4, Thrashers 3

Alex Kemp’s goal with 2:49 to play, which was set up by Ethan Higbee, broke a tie and lifted Killer Instinct to victory.

Kemp finished with two goals overall. Michael Borrego and Kaylyn De Jongh each had a goal and assist, and Nathan May had an assist.

Brandon White scored once with an assist, Brocton Jobin and Matthew Weaver each scored, and Nick Somes had two assists for the Thrashers.

In Adams Division action:

Kings 5, Blackhawks 3

Goals by four different Kings players offset the three-goal scoring of the Blackhawks’ Brandon Washiashi.

Clay Bozanich scored twice and Braden Hotra, Ryan Bevington and Brayden Utley each scored once for the Kings. Bevington and Sara Rubinelli each had an assist.

Maple Leafs 3, Penguins 1

Wayne Ponce scored all three goals and Jackson Wozniak had 13 saves as the Maple Leafs led all the way in defeating the Penguins.

Ducks 4, Sharks 4

Chase Hoglund scored the last of three consecutive goals with 7:14 to play to tie the score as the Ducks and Sharks played to a standstill. Jacob Fisk had a goal and assist, and Geoffrey Campbell stopped 10 shot attempts for the Ducks.

Tristan Shults and Daniel Ramirez scored for the Sharks. Matthew Acebedo had nine saves.
