Watch for construction on West Coast Highway

A series of Caltrans-approved projects along West Coast Highway may cause traffic delays throughout the spring months in Newport Beach.

Caltrans is working on a traffic signal rehabilitation project at West Coast Highway and Riverside Avenue, and West Coast Highway and Tustin Avenue. This project began earlier this month and should conclude in April.

In March, Caltrans plans to begin rehabilitating the pavement along West Coast Highway from Newport Boulevard to Dover Drive. The project should be completed in May.

Caltrans maintains East Coast Highway from Jamboree Road west to the Santa Ana River and from Newport Coast Drive east to the city border. The city of Newport Beach maintains the portion of the roadway from Jamboree Road east to Newport Coast Drive.

The city is working with Caltrans to ensure its contractors limit the hours of roadway closures, implement advanced warning signs and maintain a safe passageway for motorists.
