BREAKDOWN: The Anteaters (8-11, 3-3 in the Big West Conference) are exactly in the middle of the nine-team conference pack as they visit the conference-leading Matadors (14-4, 6-0) ... Northridge is outscoring conference opponents, 82.3-62.3, and is forcing 21 turnovers per game ... UCI, which is 1-11 in games outside of Irvine this season, is averaging just 12.5 turnovers per game, which ranks 25th among 328 Division I programs, and has averaged just 9.5 turnovers its last four games ... This is the first of four straight road games for UCI ... The Anteaters are led by senior Patrick Sanders (15.4 points per game). He is also averaging 4.9 rebounds ... Senior Darren Fells is averaging 13.6 points and a team-best 6.0 rebounds, while guards Michael Hunter and Brett Lauer are averaging 7.3 points per game apiece. Hunter is averaging 11.7 points over the last three games ... Northridge has four scorers averaging in double figures, including junior guard Deon Tresvant (13.6), senior forward Calvin Chitwood (12.1), senior forward Jonathan Heard (11.8) and junior forward Tremaine Townsend (10.1). Townsend leads the Big West with 8.4 rebounds per contest and Tresvant has made 30 of 54 three-pointers in conference play this season (55.6%) ... UCI welcomes back junior guard Trey Harris (4.1 ppg), who missed the last five games due to academic issues ... UCI senior guard Chuma Awaji remains academically ineligible.
