CORONA DEL MAR — The host Sea Kings closed out their Pacific Coast League season with a perfect 8-0 record, improving to 20-7 overall.

Brown-bound senior Stefan Kaluz amassed 28 points, 18 rebounds and five blocked shots on senior night for the Sea Kings, ranked No. 5 in CIF Southern Section Division III-A.

Senior Adam Brakeville had 11 rebounds and four points, senior Erik Rask had 10 points and six assists and freshman Clayton Ragsdale added seven points and seven assists.

Senior Cory Macdonald hit his first three-pointer of the year for CdM.

SANTA ANA — Senior Mark Allred scored 14 points to help make Estancia eligible for a CIF Southern Section at-large playoff berth in its Orange Coast League game Tuesday night.

Senior Barry Fryslie added nine points and exceptional defense for Estancia (12-13, 4-4 in league), which had not defeated Calvary Chapel this season.

Estancia Coach Agustin Heredia said it was his team’s best defensive effort of the season.

Estancia ends the regular season at home against Laguna Beach Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO — The visiting Lightning led, 26-24, at halftime and were down by two after three quarters, but were outscored, 21-8, in the final quarter to lose their chance to join St. Margaret’s atop the Academy League standings Tuesday.

Junior Morgan Hembarsky led the Lightning (14-9, 6-3 in league), ranked No. 8 in CIF Southern Section Division IV-AA, with 15 points, while junior Stephanie Garrison added 14 points and nine rebounds.

Senior Katie McKeon had 10 assists and two points, while sophomore teammate Hannah Jeffrey had 11 rebounds and four points.

St. Margaret’s (18-3, 8-1), ranked No. 6 in CIF Division IV-AA, clinched at least a share of the league title.

Sage Hill, which has clinched a CIF playoff berth, can tie Whitney for second place with a win at Whitney Thursday at 6 p.m.

NEWPORT BEACH — The Sailors have just one more game left in the season after a Sunset League loss to the Griffins.

They will play at Marina Thursday at 7 p.m. in an effort to stop a 12-game league slide, dating back to last season. The Sailors (6-17, 0-9 in league) last won a Sunset League game Jan. 30, 2007 against Fountain Valley.

COSTA MESA — Estancia held on to its second-place standing in the Orange Coast League Tuesday with a win over visiting Calvary Chapel.

Sophomore forward Kendra Fisher scored a first-half goal for Estancia (9-7-2, 4-2-2 in league) on an assist from senior midfielder Stacy McDaniels.

Sophomore goalkeeper Allyson Wallace had eight saves as Estancia went toe-to-toe with Calvary Chapel for shots on goal. Both teams finished with 12.

Senior midfielder Taylor West scored in the second half on an assist from senior forward Jennifer Thomas.

Estancia will play host to Laguna Beach Thursday in the last regular-season game.

Costa Mesa 2, Laguna Beach 1

LAGUNA BEACH — Junior Kyra Graham and sophomore Danielle Young each scored goals Tuesday, helping the visiting Mustangs remain in first place in the Orange Coast League with one match left in the regular season.

With the victory, Costa Mesa (10-8-5, 4-1-3 in league) clinched a CIF Southern Section Division III playoff berth. The Mustangs are one point ahead of second-place Estancia. Costa Mesa can clinch its sixth straight league title with a win Thursday at home against Calvary Chapel at 3 p.m.

Junior goalkeeper Jessica Rubright made four saves and senior Marina Lazos played well defensively for the Mustangs.

Newport Harbor 0

NEWPORT BEACH — The Griffins scored three goals in the first 15 minutes, as the host Sailors dropped to 6-9-7, 2-5-2 in the Sunset League Tuesday.

Newport Harbor junior Stephanie Castor (two saves) and freshman Sydney King (three) split time in goal.

The Sailors end their season at Marina Thursday at 3 p.m.

CORONA DEL MAR — Senior Paolo Iaccarino scored two unassisted goals for the Sea Kings in their Pacific Coast League home game Tuesday.

Sophomore Reed Williams scored on assist from senior Albert Buffet, and Nick Taylor connected on an assist from senior Kevin Kottke for Corona del Mar (8-9-3, 4-3-1 in league), which clinched a CIF Southern Section Division III playoff berth.

CdM goalies, senior Russell Goldberg and junior Zak Maurer-Erickson, had five saves each on Senior Day for the Sea Kings.

CdM, which ended its regular season Tuesday, had sole possession of first place, but Laguna Hills protested a Sea Kings’ victory over the Hawks Jan. 11 because an extra overtime period was played, breaking a league rule. CdM and Laguna Hills, which is now in first, were each granted a tie.

Playoff pairings will be announced Monday.
