Defense leads way in victory

Drew Truxaw and the Conspiracy defense played shutout hockey while the offense scored in each period in a 3-0 Campbell Division victory over the Rangers at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

Lightning 3, Mad Dogs 1

The Lightning put the game away against the Mad Dogs when Joel Steele scored an unassisted goal with 1:15 to play.

Lightning Blades 3, Jaguars 1

A 2-0 start to the match proved to be the difference for the Lightning Blades in their win over the Jaguars.

Trent Berkenkamp scored for the Jaguars.

Aliens 2, Hot Shots 2

Both teams scored single goals in the first two periods, but neither could score in the third period, and the result was a tie.

In Norris Division action

Hornets 3, Flames 2

Scott Berg netted the winning goal in the closing seconds to get the Hornets past the Flames.

Berg’s goal came off an assist from Ethan Michaelis and was his lone goal of the match.

Young Guns 6, Puckhogs 2

Tied after one period, the Young Guns went on to outscore the Puckhogs 5-1 over the final two periods to pick up the victory.
