Haas guest speaker at Toshiba Classic breakfast

Jay Haas will be the celebrity guest speaker at this year’s Breakfast with a Champion, Toshiba Classic golf tournament officials announced Friday.

Haas won last year’s Toshiba Classic by two strokes, setting a tournament record of 19-under-par 194 on his way to winning the 2007 Arnold Palmer Award for being the PGA Champion Tour’s leading money winner. Five hundred guests are expected to attend, according to tournament director Jeff Purser.

The breakfast will be at 7 a.m. Tuesday, March 4 at the Marriott Newport Beach Hotel and Spa. Tickets can be purchased for $100 and they include a tournament grounds pass for the day and a ticket to the “Shot from the Top” event at noon.

Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Hoag Hospital Heart Institute. Those interested can call (949) 660-1001 for more information.
