He served as the Captain’s orderly aboard the U.S.S. LeJeune. He attended UCLA before marrying Wanda Germain on December 11, 1952. In 1954, together with their three children, they moved from Pacific Palisades to Bayshores in Newport Beach.

Bob’s career was in the marine industry and he became prominent in the local yachting community as the general manager of the original Newport Marine Supply: the 1st chairman of the Newport Harbor Chamber of Commerce Marine Division: a vice commodore and founding member of the Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club: appointed to the legislative committee of the Southern California Marine Assoc. and on the Board of Governors for the Balboa Bay Club.

Always the family man, Bob and Wanda followed two of their three children back to Newport Beach in 1975. Bob continued in the marine industry, eventually working with his son Jim upon his return to Newport. Bob purchased Homewares Of California, a wholesale gourmet kitchenware distributorship in Signal Hill where he worked, along with his daughter Suzi, until his retirement in 1986.

Bob and Wanda spent their retirement years traveling and enjoying their grandchildren. Bob was a dear, loving and devoted husband to Wanda for 55 years, an adoring and mindful father to his three children and their spouses, Jim (deceased) and Talle, Lani (Don Sinkway) and Suzi (Andy Andersen) and a fun, loving grandfather (and Great grandfather) to his seven grandchildren, Jamie and Kaylor, Clint, Jamie, Teddi and Staci, and Alexandra. Always the gentle man, he was loved and truly adored by his family and many friends. He will be keenly missed by them all.

A memorial party honoring Bob was held Sunday the 10th at his home on Galaxy Dr. in Newport Beach. In lieu of flowers, Bob would be honored to have donations made to the following charities in his name:
