PET OF THE WEEK
HARLEY
Harley, a 5-year-old, cocoa-colored female Chihuahua-miniature pinscher mix, is looking for a new home as her family has long work hours and can’t give her as much attention as they would like. Harley’s owner wants her to have a better life with someone who can give her more time.
“Harley enjoys outings at the park where she can run and chase the birds,” said DiAnna Pfaff-Martin, founder of the Community Animal Network. “She knows her commands, likes strawberry yogurt, favors playing with socks and Kong toys, and enjoys lounging on the sofa.”
Pfaff-Martin said Harley is best suited for an all-female home, “with a woman that would treat her like a baby and give into her wanting to sleep under the covers.”
The Community Animal Network is also seeking volunteers to help care for the increased amount of pregnant cats and abandoned kittens.
The network is starting a foundation called “Feed the Kittens” to help provide food for those who are cared for by the network.
Community Animal Network has pet adoptions Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. outside Russo’s Pet Experience in Fashion Island. Harley will be there on Sunday only. To volunteer, call (949) 533-0411.
To make a donation, mail checks — referenced with tax ID No. 33-0971560 — to Community Animal Network, P.O. Box 8662 Newport Beach, CA, 92658.
