More than $1,800’s worth of kids’ books received
Library staff at the Crean Mariners Branch Library is busy stocking the shelves this week with more than $1,800 worth of new children’s books donated by local bookstore The First Page.
First Page customers can designate a school library of their choice to receive 5% of the proceeds from each purchase from the bookstore. The First Page presents gift certificates to each school at the end of the year to purchase new books. Mariner’s Elementary School has received the largest donations for the past two years because of its close proximity to the bookstore.
The elementary school uses the Mariners Branch library as its school library. Library staff purchased more than 100 children’s books with the donation.
