Kosher pickle-making workshop at Chabad

What makes a pickle kosher?

This and many other questions about the kosher pickle will be answered at 4:30 p.m. March 11 during a Kosher Pickle Making seminar at Chabad Jewish Center of Laguna Beach.

“Kosher Pickle Making is one of the most creative educational programs I’ve seen lately,” Rabbi Eli Goorevitch said. “Kosher is so much a part of our lives, but how much do we know about it?”

Participants will learn how to make American kosher dill pickles, while discovering the pickle’s history.

“People will have the chance to personalize their own pickles,” said Perel Goorevitch, program director of the center. “The program is going to answer a lot of questions people have about kosher.”

The event is open to the public. The event is co-sponsored by the Chabad Hebrew School, a nonprofit educational program offering Hebrew and Judaic education.

Chabad Jewish Center in Laguna Beach is at 30804 S. Coast Hwy. There is a $12 fee for the event which includes one jar of pickles. To RSVP or for more information, call Chabad at (949) 499-0770 or visit www.chabadoflaguna.com.
