‘High School Musical’ to take stage at Artscenter

Tickets for a new touring stage adaptation of Disney’s “High School Musical,” appearing at the Orange County Performing Artscenter in June, will go on sale March 9.

Disney’s musical comedy scored the highest ratings for a Disney Channel Original Movie when it premiered in 2006.

The story is of a popular basketball star and a shy girl who discover they share a passion for singing when they audition together for the lead roles in their high school musical.

Directed by Jeff Calhoun, the touring company comprises 34 cast members and a live orchestra that will perform all the songs from the show’s original soundtrack as well as two new selections.
