Costa Mesa police are asking for information from anyone who may have witnessed a traffic accident Thursday night that left the driver and the passenger hospitalized.

Just after 9 p.m. Thursday night, Santa Ana resident Cesar Rojas, 24, was driving a silver 2004 Toyota Camry westbound on Sunflower Avenue and going about 60 mph, witnesses said. Shortly after passing Fuschia Street, near South Coast Plaza, Rojas lost control, and the Camry careened off the road and into two trees, police said.

Rojas does not have a driver’s license, officials said. Rojas suffered head and chest injuries, and he and the passenger, 34-year-old Santa Ana resident Rosalia Ceron, were taken to Santa Ana Western Medical Center for injuries, police said.
