Norman Donald Young

Feb. 11, 1953-Feb. 22, 2008

Norman was born in Los Angeles, resided in Newport Beach and moved to Costa Mesa when he was four. He graduated from Costa Mesa High in 1971 and attended Orange Coast College. He worked for 35 years in the construction industry and was a former member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America.

Norm was a fine craftsman. Much of his time as a child was spent building boats with his father and, as an adult, building guitars with his sons and their friends in his workshop.

Norman dearly loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Linda Healey Young, daughter, Charlotte, sons, Carver, Ian, daughter- in -law, Roya, and grandson, Donovan. His mother, Marie Young, sisters, Kathy (Frank) Seiersen, Delane (Clay) Turner, brother, John (Alla) Huff, Aunt, Betty Huff, five nieces, four nephews, mother and father- in- law, Patty and Mike Healey, brother and sister- in -law, Jon and Martha Healey and his three beloved cats, Caroline, Johnnie Utah and Les Paul, who brought him much comfort throughout his long illness.

A memorial service will be held in St, Andrews Presbyterian Church at 2:00 pm on Tuesday February 26.
