Veronica Watters Nielsen

On February 19, 2008 Veronica Watters Nielsen passed away peacefully, having lived a full and rewarding 100 years. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on December 19, 1907, she lived in Connecticut for many years before relocating to California. She maintained strong ties to both coasts all her life.

After many years of volunteerism in Catholic Archdiocesan charities, Veronica, at mid-life, decided to pursue a career. She enjoyed great success in her chosen field as a Career Counselor. She was much appreciated for all of her accomplishments over the years.

Veronica’s love, verve, humor and gentle strength will be greatly missed by her daughter, Barbara Nielsen, sons Roger and Paul Nielsen and grandchildren, Cheri, Judith, Marc and Matthew Buonaguidi, Timothy Nielsen, Laura Nielsen Corn, Michael Nielsen, Michelle Nielsen Stoeck and Molly Nielsen as well as her five great grandchildren. Her husband of 68 years, Herbert Ernst Nielsen, predeceased her as did her son, Ray Nielsen.

Funeral Mass will be held at Mission Hills Catholic Mortuary Chapel at the San Fernando Mission Cemetery on March 8, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. with interment immediately following.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to the Mystic Seaport Museum, 75 Greenmanville Avenue, Mystic, CT 06355
