It’s time for baseball for Newport-Mesa teams

Newport-Mesa area teams plan to get into the swing of things today as the five baseball teams will compete in their respective season openers.

Corona del Mar, Costa Mesa, Estancia and Newport Harbor begin the season in the Newport Elks Tournament. CdM will play host to La Habra at 3 p.m. Costa Mesa also has a home game today at 3 p.m., when the Mustangs take on Buena Park. Elsinore plays at Newport Harbor and Estancia will be at Santa Ana. Both games start at 3.

Sage Hill will play at Saddleback Valley Christian at 3 p.m.
