Vanguard University sophomore point guard Greg Scott, who helped the Lions finish tied for third in the Golden State Athletic Conference men’s basketball regular season, has been named all-conference.

Scott, a 5-foot-10 floor leader, averaged 10.9 points, second best among Lions and a team-best 6.0 assists in the regular season, helping Vanguard finish 20-9, 13-7. Scott also chipped in 3.3 rebounds and 1.5 steals per contest, the latter a team-high.

Scott is one of only three sophomores on the 15-player unit.

Though the Lions finished tied for third, they are the No. 5 seed entering Thursday’s conference tournament quarterfinals. They will visit No. 4-seeded Point Loma Nazarene (22-8, 13-7) at 7:30 p.m. The semifinals are Saturday and the final is Tuesday.
