Remember to turn your clocks forward Sunday morning. Daylight saving time begins at 2 a.m. March 9, marking the beginning of an extra hour of daylight and one less hour of sleep.

Starting in 2007, daylight saving time is observed in the United States from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November. It was observed from the first Sunday in April to the last Sunday in October from 1986 through 2006.

This change occurred due to a Congressional bill passed in 2005 to save energy. No state is required to observe the change “” Arizona and Hawaii are two that remain in standard time.
