Newport Beach police arrested USC defensive tackle Fili Moala last weekend after a brawl at the Hogue Barmichaels restaurant and bar, Sgt. Evan Sailor said Saturday.

Moala went with some friends to the bar when several fights broke out early Sunday morning, Sailor said. Police arrived and ordered a group of patrons in the parking lot to get on the ground, then arrested Moala after he ran back inside the bar. He was booked at Newport Beach City Jail and left on $500 bail.

Moala was charged with resisting and obstructing a police officer, and is set to be arraigned soon. Sailor said it was unclear whether Moala was involved in any of the fights inside the bar, which led to at least five other arrests.
