BREAKDOWN: The Anteaters (15-14, 8-6 in the Big West Conference) wrap up their regular season with the intent of finishing 12-0 at the Bren Events Center this season, 13-0 in games played on campus ... The Titans (20-8, 11-4), however, are battling for the second conference title in their history, entering tied for first with UC Santa Barbara and Cal State Northridge ... The Titans have never won an outright crown. They shared the 1976 title in what was then the Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. ... A victory would also tie a single-season victory record for Fullerton, set by the 21-6 team of 1982-83 ... A UCI win would clinch the Anteaters’ third winning season in the last four campaigns ... Fullerton won the first meeting this season, 93-83, in UCI’s conference opener on Jan. 4 at Titan Gym ... UCI seniors Darren Fells, Patrick Sanders and Marcus McIntosh will be recognized in a pregame ceremony before their final game at the Bren on Senior Night ... UCI has the No. 5 seed for the Big West Conference Tournament that begins Wednesday at the Anaheim Convention Center. The ’Eaters play the No. 8 seed, the winner of tonight’s UC Davis at UC Riverside contest, at 6 p.m. on Wednesday ... UCI is led by Sanders (15.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game) and Fells (14.3 ppg, 6-7 rpg), as well as sophomore point guard Michael Hunter (8.3 ppg and 2.4 assists per contest) ... Coach Bob Burton’s Titans are paced by junior guard Josh Akognon (19.8 ppg) senior Frank Robinson (16.1 ppg, 6.9 rpg) and senior Scott Cutley (14.8 ppg, 7.8 rpg) ... Many believe Cutley, a 6-foot-5 center, is a leading candidate for Big West Player of the Year.
