Where it all began

Just as we approach the observance of Holy Week, you are invited by Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church for an informative evening, to learn about the history of where it all began.

“The History of the Holy Land: Yesterday and Today” features guest speaker, Dr. Charles Frazee, professor of church history at the Episcopal Theological School in Claremont.

The evening is part of the monthly Speaker Series 2008, sponsored by the church, and will be held on Thursday, March 13 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in O’Donnell Hall, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1441 West Balboa Blvd., Newport Beach (at the corner of 15th Street and Balboa Boulevard on the Balboa Peninsula).

The meeting is open to the public, and there is no charge for attendance.

Worth repeating

The thought for the day, as provided by Greg Kelley of the Newport Mesa Irvine Interfaith Council:

“By working faithfully eight hours a day, you may eventually get to be boss and work 12 hours a day.”
