SAN DIEGO — Junior third baseman Zachary Falk had an RBI single as the Lions scored twice in the top of the 12th, then hung on for the Golden State Athletic Conference win Wednesday at Point Loma.

Falk was three for five with two RBIs, while sophomore left fielder Daniel Black was two for five with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. Junior Richard Jessup got the win for the Lions (9-13, 4-11 in conference), pitching 2 2/3 innings in relief and giving up a lone run.

Point Loma dropped to 12-11, 7-8.

IRVINE — Victor Lamm, Khunpol Issara, Stephen Stege, Zac Tsai and Ryan Mayer won in singles to help the Anteaters close out with a win in their two nonconference matches Wednesday.

Lamm won at No. 2 singles and UCI won two of three in doubles to earn the doubles point against UAB.

The Anteaters (5-7) play host to Yale Friday at 1 p.m. in the second match of a doubleheader with the UCI women’s team at Anteater Tennis Stadium.

SAN DIEGO — Sophomore opposite hitter Kevin Welch, a Corona del Mar High product, had a team-high 13 kills to lead the Pirates in the Pacific Coast Conference match Wednesday at San Diego Mesa.

Sophomore middle blocker Jake Awerkamp had nine kills for the Pirates (7-3, 3-1 in conference), while freshman libero Andrew Pizula added eight kills and eight digs.

OCC plays at rival Golden West on Friday at 7 p.m.
