Baha’i awards honor students, school staff members at theater

Laguna Beach Unified School District students and employees were honored Feb. 26 at the 3rd Annual Baha’i Honorary Awards Program at the Artists’ Theatre.

The evening began with musical performances by four students. District Assistant Superintendent for Instructional Services Nancy Hubbell served as keynote speaker for the event, where 13 students and four school staff members were recognized.

The students who were nominated and awarded for outstanding philanthropic services were Davis Price, Hana Gallego, Claire Gershenson, Olivia Clark, Leanne Huynh, Rickie Scott, April Carlson, Karina Parker, Eliana Alcouloumre, Kelly Morrell, Kim Smith, Rosalie Cebreros and Graham Harris.

They received a trophy and a scholarship for their services to the community.

The staff members awarded for outstanding service to students and the outside community were Clara Candelaria, Debbie Finnerty, Patricia Twitty and Sarah Ray.
