BREAKING NEWS:

An Aliso Viejo woman was arrested in Costa Mesa early Tuesday for allegedly hitting two police officers and being drunk in public after drinking at Skosh Monahan’s, officials said Tuesday.

Police received a call about 1 a.m. Tuesday from someone saying Shayne Alacar, 23, was in the gutter at Newport Boulevard and Walnut Avenue screaming that she had been raped, said Sgt. Jerry Hildeman.

While officers were talking with her, Alacar lunged at one of the officers and starting “wailing on his foot,” Hildeman said. A female officer grabbed Alacar’s arm and she turned and punched her in the thigh, Hildeman said. Authorities could not substantiate her claims of being raped.

Alacar was arrested on suspicion of public drunkenness and battery of a peace officer, Hildeman said.
