Celebrate Purim with feasting at Temple Isaiah

Temple Isaiah will host a Purim dinner party at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Purim is observed the 13th day of the Hebrew month of Adar and is a celebratory holiday in which people wear costumes, exchange gifts and give to charity. Mordecai instructed the people to observe Purim as days of feasting and gladness, sending delicacies to one another and gifts to the poor. Purim is the origin of Mardi Gras.

Temple Isaiah will mark the day with a homemade traditional meal, a short ma’ariv service, the reading of Megillat Esther, and a sing-a-long.

The meal costs $10 for temple members, $15 for non-members and $7.50 for children. Temple Isaiah is at 2401 Irvine Ave., Newport Beach.
